money is NOT...
evil
"money is the root of all evil". wrong. the LOVE of money, is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 10:6 i mean just think about it. capitalism. theft, betrayal, scamming, poverty, discrimination, classism. what is the root of all these issues: the love of money. the love of money keeps the rich from distributing their wealth. the love of money keeps corporations from treating their workers fairly. the love of money causes deaths all the time, from bank robberies to street thefts, to gang debt, etc. the love of money causes people to be scammed out of their hard earned money by a greedy manipulator. the love of money causes spiritual death. someone will literally turn from God if it means a temporary life of wealth, and an eternity of pain. money is not the root of all evil. and God does not mind taking care of His children. Hebrews 13:5, Psalm 37: 25.
the only answer
life has been made difficult by sin alone. it doesn't help that we have to struggle at times, or that we see people that are obviously wicked and selfish seemingly thriving. Read Psalm 37 and Luke 12: 15. God is well aware of the state of the world and the actions of those who exploit for profit. however this is not to promote hatred towards rich people, but to remember to stay humble to Christ and not honor money above Him, because it'll lead to your detriment. not only are you operating in idolatry when you worship money and a job, you are also brimming on the edge of loving money dangerously--leading to pride or selfishness. God's word says to seek the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you, Matthew 6: 33, and Jesus says if the birds of the air don't go without food from God, would He not take even more care of you who is worth more than the birds in the sky. Matthew 6:26.

is God against prosperity?
No. If you read the old testament, it shows many signs that God does not mind blessing His children in physical and spiritual wealth. He blessed Abraham with many MANY descendants, and Solomon with riches that the richest man in the world would find mind boggling. The issue with prosperity gospel is it perverts the gospel to be about hustling, money, yourself. and many times the person preaching it. It manipulates and scams, physically and spiritually. It takes Jesus completely out of the picture, or it twists His words to be about worldly wealth when Jesus wants us to focus on spiritual wealth. Matthew 6: 19-21. God's word says in multiple books and chapters that He will take care of His children, and cares for their needs. He doesn't want you FOCUSING on money. He doesn't want you IDOLISING money, and you must remember, the gospel is not about you. It was done for you, but it is about Jesus. And as the savior of the world He has given us instruction and continues to guide us and keep us in good relationship with Him and the Father. That includes seeking FIRST the kingdom of God. The teacher in Ecclesiastes explains that he had seen and had everything under the sun and realized it was all vanity---the best way to live life is to be happy & love your community despite the uncertainties of the world because God gave you life, so just try to do well. Ecclesiastes 9. So it's not that the Lord doesn't want you to be prosperous or happy, He just wants to make sure your priorities stay in check so that you don't drift into tribulation from the death of sin. Keep Him first and nurture your relationship with Him and He will take care of you. He knows what's best for you and is willing to do it. He isn't ignorant to money's power on earth. Just know that it's nothing compared to His own.
